What is the Melanage Skin Lightening System?
Do you have uneven skin tone, deep pigment issues or melasma? The Melanage Skin Lightening System is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin which involves a medicated mask and an at-home regimen. There is no pain and little-to-no irritation during the application of the mask, and typically, the irritation level on the following days is more like a sunburn.
How does it work?
Melanage 1 Mask is applied during an office visit where it is compounded freshly by the esthetician to ensure its potency and reliability. You will leave the office with the mask on your face and it is removed by you after a required length of time depending on your skin type. You are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of several products following the removal of the mask.
What results can I expect?
Results will vary but generally you will see a significant improvement in the appearance of pigmented areas as well as your skins overall texture. Dark spots will lighten and skin texture and tone will improve. Most patients will experience peeling of their skin. You may notice this for several days to a few weeks depending on the strength of the mask that you had applied. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you are still receiving all the benefits the of the Melanage Peel. This includes stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines and pigmentation. Proper skin evaluation by your doctor and esthetician prior to your peel is important and will help predict the outcome of your peel.
