Microneedling

Microneedling

Microneedling is a state of the art procedure that works to rejuvenate, tighten and lift the skin. It is extremely effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, texture irregularities, acne scarring, stretch marks, enlarged pores, as well as other skin issues.

In some cases, it can also be used to treat melasma, a skin issue which results in patchy looking areas of brownish skin that may appear on the bridge of the nose, forehead, chin or upper lip areas and alopecia, or hair loss, when combined with other appropriate therapies. Microneedling is safe on any skin type, has short treatment time and minimal discomfort with virtually no downtime.

How Microneedling Works

This automated needling device uses 11 micro-needles to vertically stamp the skin at high speed. The rapid stamping action creates micro-injuries to the skin, which responds by increasing the production of new collagen. Depending on the area being treated and how aggressiveness the treatment needs to be to achieve your desired results, there can be some slight discomfort during the procedure.

A topical numbing cream is applied 1 hour prior to the procedure to help reduce any discomfort. Additionally, some slight amount of swelling may occur. It is usually more noticeable on the second day. Microneedling treatments also include a post-procedure care mask that is applied following the treatment to help with minimize any redness and swelling. Depending on your unique needs, we usually recommend five treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart in order to achieve the best results. If you suffer from acne scars, melasma or alopecia, a greater number of treatments may be necessary.
